Build Log #0: A Workbench in Ontario

This is build log #0, the day OtogeGarage got its workbench. We are a small Ontario workshop building home rhythm game controllers and stocking the parts they wear out.

Why: in North America, a home maimai style controller has meant ordering from overseas and paying more in shipping than the hardware itself costs, then waiting weeks — with no local source for a replacement button when one dies. We are fixing that with local stock, local assembly and local support.

What is next: the parts shop opens first (buttons, card readers, cables, wear parts). Full controllers follow as made-to-order pre-orders, with a test video of your actual unit before the balance is due. Build logs land here as it happens.

The benchmark

Every home build gets measured against one thing: the arcade original. This is a maimai DX cabinet in China, photographed by us — the machine our parts and controllers have to live up to, and the one most North American players cannot get to. That gap is the whole reason this workbench exists.
