Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are

OtogeGarage is an independent workshop based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. We design, assemble, sell and service rhythm game controllers and parts. Questions about these terms: hello@otogegarage.com.

2. Hardware only – and no affiliation

We sell hardware only: controllers, buttons, readers, cables and related parts. We do not sell, distribute or provide game software, game data, charts or music content of any kind.

OtogeGarage is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by SEGA Corporation or any game publisher. Product and game names mentioned on this site are used only to describe compatibility and are trademarks of their respective owners.

3. Pre-orders and deposits

Full controllers are built to order. The pre-order process works as follows:

  • Reserve: a deposit of US$200 reserves your build slot.
  • Full refund window: your deposit is fully refundable at any time before we order the parts for your build. Just email us.
  • Build: after parts are ordered, the deposit is applied to your build and is no longer refundable, except that if we are unable to deliver your controller, we refund everything you have paid, in full.
  • Approval: when assembly is complete we send you a real test video of your actual unit. The remaining balance is due after you approve the video.
  • Delivery target: our target is 3-5 weeks from deposit to shipment. This is a target, not a guarantee; if your build slips, we tell you promptly and you may cancel for a refund of any amount not yet applied to ordered parts.

4. Prices and payment

All prices are in US dollars. Shipping is calculated at checkout for parts; controller shipping is quoted or calculated before the balance is due. Orders ship from Ontario, Canada. For delivery outside Canada, your country’s import duties and taxes may apply and are the buyer’s responsibility. Payment is processed by the payment providers shown at checkout; we never see or store your full card number.

5. Warranty

Every controller is assembled and tested by us before it ships, and is covered against defects in materials and workmanship in normal use. If something fails, contact us first: we will troubleshoot with you and, for a covered defect, repair the unit, ship replacement parts, or refund as appropriate. Consumable parts (buttons, springs, microswitches) wear with play; replacements are stocked in our shop. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

6. Repair services

We also repair controllers we did not sell, by mail-in. Repair work is quoted and approved by you before we start; diagnostic findings and costs are confirmed in writing (email) before any charge.

7. Returns

Deposits, parts returns and defective items are covered by our Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here at the time of your order or deposit applies to that order.
