About

OtogeGarage started with a simple frustration: in North America, getting a home maimai style controller meant importing one finished unit at a time: weeks of waiting, single-unit freight that cost more than the hardware, and nobody to call if it arrived broken. So we build them here: parts sourced in bulk, frames cut locally, every unit assembled and tested before it ships.

How we work: parts come from the same supply chains the DIY scene uses, bought in bulk the way a workshop should. Frames are cut locally in Ontario, small brackets are printed in-house, and every controller is assembled by hand and play-tested before it leaves.

One rule we never bend: we sell hardware only. No game software, no game data — nothing that is not a physical part or a tool to fix one. OtogeGarage is based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada — right across the river from Detroit, Michigan.

Where this started

It started, literally, in front of the machine: on a family trip to China, watching players queue up for a maimai DX cabinet and doing the maths for North America. From Windsor, the nearest cabinet is a road trip away — and the home alternative cost more to ship than to buy, with nobody to call if it arrived broken. The photo below is ours, from that trip.
